The Grove Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario Introduces the Cyndy Dearden Youth Leadership Award

The Grove Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario is proud to announce the launch of the Cyndy Dearden Youth Leadership Award, an annual recognition honoring a youth who demonstrates outstanding leadership qualities in their community. The inaugural award was presented on Friday, March 21st at The Grove’s Palmerston site.

This distinguished award is named in honor of Cyndy Dearden, whose instrumental efforts have played a key role in making The Grove Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario a reality. The award serves as both a gesture of gratitude for Cyndy’s incredible contributions and an ongoing commitment to celebrating the positive impact that youth, aged 12-25, have on their community and peers. The recipient must exemplify responsibility, empathy, and integrity.

This year, The Grove Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario is thrilled to present the inaugural Cyndy Dearden Youth Leadership Award to Miranda Henry. Miranda is a dedicated and inspiring young leader who contributes to The Grove’s welcoming atmosphere by engaging in programming, connecting with her peers, and taking an active role in the Youth Action Council.

With her positive attitude, empathetic nature, and infectious enthusiasm, Miranda encourages her peers to participate in activities at The Grove. She is a strong advocate for The Grove’s services within the community and regularly shares her ideas with the Advisory Committee to enhance community engagement. One of her many contributions includes organizing and recruiting peers to take part in the Santa Claus Parade as part of an outreach effort. Additionally, she is actively involved in planning and running events that align with the interests of her peers, ensuring that The Grove remains a vibrant and inclusive space for all.
