What does connection mean to us?
Inspiring connection is the backbone of our mission. It's the reason why we continue to improve the lives of youth in our community. The Grove Hubs foundation is built upon the motto, “by youth for youth.” But what does this really mean? It means that we understand that connection can be deepened through the relatability of shared experience. Even a small connection can inspire a ripple effect, allowing an individual to feel more inclined to seek support or share their story. That is why our Youth Ambassadors are a vital part of the work we do with the youth population in our communities.
Among their many contributions, Youth Ambassadors provide a safe space for everyone, offering support in peer engagement, program initiatives and youth participation. The journey starts with them. They are the smiling faces our youth participants are greeted with when they make the decision to walk into our doors; they are the day-in-day-out presence at our facilities; they are the reason why our youth feel more inclined to open up, to seek out support, and to make meaningful relationships within our space.
Our Youth Ambassadors are the reason why we feel confident as a group to keep moving forward with our mission and why we are continuing to see an increase in youth participation and youth receiving support from our services.

Introducing our incredible Youth Ambassador team, meet Eryn:
"Hello everyone! My name is Eryn and I am a new youth ambassador at the Grove Hubs. I am passionate about building connections with the youth and am excited to be working with them. I believe in the importance of meaningful work and am dedicated to making a positive impact on their lives."
A large part of the success of our youth ambassador program at The Grove Hubs Guelph- Wellington and Fergus can be attributed to our neighbour, The University of Guelph. Acting as collaborators, The Grove Hubs welcomes many University of Guelph students for their co-op term, including Marisa!
"My name is Marisa and I am a fourth-year university student at the University of Guelph. I started at The Grove for my co-op placement and have now been working here for a year and a half. It has been such an amazing experience being able to connect with the youth in our communities to meet them where they are at to support them in their wellness journey"
Support takes many forms. For many, The Grove Hubs is a welcoming space to hang out with our Youth Ambassador team. From sharing a laugh to playing a game or even just having a friendly conversation, quality time is a big part of the work our youth ambassador team does. Brightening up someone's day can decrease stress and improve their well-being.

The work our ambassadors do is the reason why we can keep on progressing toward our long-term goals. Change starts with making the first step, and our Youth Ambassadors are the initiators of this stage. Their roles are rewarding, giving back to the youth community brings meaning into their lives and the work that they do:

I now work part-time with The Grove and enjoy what I do every day. The Grove has been the most meaningful experience for me. Being able to connect with youth who use the space has been such a blessing and I am excited to continue making a difference in youths lives!"
